Founder, Express Petroleum and Express Trade Financing
A trader who knows
the people behind the cargo.
Janakk Makwana is a seasoned trade professional and a veteran of the commodity business. He founded Express Petroleum to help international buyers find reliable supply, and he is also the founder of Express Trade Financing, the parent company that advises on and helps arrange trade finance.
Over the years he has built a wide network of suppliers, refiners, financiers and shipping contacts across the trade. Those relationships are what let Express Petroleum do its job: knowing who to call, what is realistic and how to move a deal from first conversation to delivered cargo.
Having spent his career on both sides of a trade, sourcing the product and arranging the finance behind it, he understands the full picture a buyer has to manage. He still takes a personal interest in every enquiry, and he expects the company to work the way he does: straightforwardly, patiently and with the long term in mind.
